City & Guilds

Our purpose as a school is to raise the profile of the contribution Learning Support/Teaching Assistants make to education. We believe that the support given to pupils is extremely important in their schooling and personal developed and that Learning Support/Teaching Assistants so often go without the recognition they deserve.

Our training objective is to deliver training of the highest standard that engages and supports trainees to participate and succeed in achieving their individual learning goals, completing their awards, ultimately enabling them to provide increased access and opportunity for all students they may work with, whatever is required.

The City & Guilds Certificate/Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools Levels 2 and 3 is a work based qualification and consists of written assignments support by work-based evidence. To successfully obtain the accreditation trainees and required to fulfill certain criteria:

  • work for a minimum of 15 hours per week in a classroom
  • achieve support from their school, SENCO and Headteacher
  • complete a minimum of 30 credits at level 2 or 32 credits at level 3
